In this workshop you will learn a sand casting process using delft clay, (an oil bonded sand that acts like clay). It involves packing the sand around an object in a two-part mold, removing the object, reconnecting the two parts and pouring molten silver into the cavity. You will spend the first half of the workshop carving and preparing wax, and the second half casting and finishing the silver. You will likely have time to cast it twice, and possibly to cast multiple objects!
No carving or casting experience is necessary, beginners welcome!
